I’ve had many great teachers in my life: books, animals, nature, and people. Like my high school photography teacher, Mrs. Kaluza. My second Mom and horse trainer, Donna. My grandmother Louise; photographers whom I’ve assisted; and of course, mentors whom I’ve both worked with directly and those I’ve admired from afar.
The ability for someone to take another under their wing and show them a world, a way of living, a skill, or an idea has never ceased to amaze me. It is by far the most transformative thing we will experience throughout our lifetime.

When we are growing up, we’re seemingly unaware of this process and the time and dedication shared with us in order to learn how to walk, ride a bike, then learn algebra, and more.
And as we continue through life, societal norms tend to tell us that we’re done.
You’re an adult, you’re whole. Time to get a job, then a better job, get married, have kids, work more, retire.
When we hear about the milestones, there is little weight put on the journey of who you are becoming past those early twenties.
After that stage, life is a series of checklists and accomplishments, with little focus on the journey itself. In his book Happier, Ben-Shahar writes:
“We are not rewarded for enjoying the journey itself but for the successful completion of a journey. Society rewards results, not processes; arrivals, not journeys.”
But Jeff Sutherland sheds light on the reality of our experience in Scrum:
“But our day-to-day life is mostly made up of journeys. We don’t summit peaks everyday, or make the big score, or get the big bonus. Most of our days are taking up with striving toward our goals, whatever they may be.”
I was lucky enough to go to a trade school, a photography school focused entirely on craft. And while I certainly learned to take photos, it left a big desire for a more robust education.
I craved the ideas that I imagined were being talked about in Harvard classrooms and courses for the ivy league minds. But a traditional 4-year university simply wasn’t in the cards for me, so I went about trying to learn where I could.
Books, jobs, then courses and mentors. Without knowing it, I began a self-educational path that I never want to end. (And with all there is to learn, it never will.) The quest to learn more, to allow learning to transform us from the inside, is a journey we never complete.
After 20+ years in the photo industry and 15+ years as a wedding photographer, I had the privilege of being able to speak and share at workshops and conferences.
But diving into teaching left me with an incomplete feeling again. If only I could dive deeper into all the things I wished I had known when I was coming up in the business…How many twists and turns, wasted time and money, and hardships could have been avoided?
So through that nagging desire, I decided to pour everything I knew into one place. I thought, Surely, this could be of value to others.
I included business foundations, from A-Z. All my strategies for attracting, attaining, and serving clients. The best practices for prepping, shooting, and post-production workflows. The ideas that helped me solidify who I am as thriving photographer and entrepreneur.
I asked all the questions that I wished I had contemplated when chartering my course to success.
And the result?

My signature program is for growth-minded photographers who are ready to build an abundant life and business—one full of freedom, profits, and creative mastery.
've spent the past decade capturing love and chasing beauty across the globe, and I believe every story like yours is different and special, and deserves to be told exceptionally.
Drawing on years of experience in the fashion and editorial photography industry, my photographs are graceful, honest and boldly natural, while completely intentional. Whether it’s the opportunity to narrate the retelling of once-in-a-lifetime wedding days, or the ability to communicate issues of global importance, or all the stories in between, I look at photography as the method by which I get to leave the world a little better than I found it.
